Joining AIM shortly after its inception in 2012, he helped grow AIM into the largest and most-active angel investor network in the Southeast U.S., completing 62 deals involving 43 companies, and investing more than $40 million in early-stage transactions. In its first year, Gold Coast added 7 companies to its portfolio and structured more than $1.6M in private investments.

Born in Mobile, AL and an Auburn University graduate, he is now active in the Miami community, serving on the board of the St. John Bosco Clinic, a free healthcare clinic in Allapattah for low-income and uninsured patients. He is a Pillar Member of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the MBCoC Board of Governors. Megginson is also an award-winning journalist, claiming 4 Alabama Press Association awards prior to turning his attention to private business pursuits in the 1990s.
